🍰 Soft & Moist Marble Cake Recipe
Servings: 10–12 slices
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Bake Time: 45–50 minutes
Total Time: ~1 hour 10 minutes
🧈 Ingredients:
For the Cake:
-
2 ½ cups (315g) all-purpose flour
-
2 ½ tsp baking powder
-
½ tsp salt
-
1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
-
1 ¾ cups (350g) granulated sugar
-
4 large eggs
-
1 tbsp vanilla extract
-
1 cup (240ml) milk (room temperature)
-
¼ cup (25g) unsweetened cocoa powder
-
3 tbsp hot water
🥣 Instructions:
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch loaf pan or bundt pan.
-
Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
-
Cream butter and sugar: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 3–4 minutes).
-
Add eggs and vanilla: Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract. Mix until fully combined.
-
Add milk and dry mix: Alternate adding the flour mixture and milk to the butter mixture. Start and end with flour. Mix until just combined.
-
Make chocolate batter: In a small bowl, mix cocoa powder with hot water to make a paste. Take 1/3 of the vanilla batter and mix it with the cocoa paste to make the chocolate batter.
-
Create the marble effect: Pour half the vanilla batter into the pan, followed by the chocolate batter, then the remaining vanilla batter. Use a knife or skewer to swirl through the batter gently for a marble effect.
-
Bake: Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
-
Cool and serve: Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!
🍫 Optional Toppings:
-
Dust with powdered sugar
-
Drizzle with chocolate ganache or glaze
-
Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream
✅ Tips:
-
Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature for best texture.
-
Don’t overmix the batter after adding flour to keep the cake soft.
-
For a richer chocolate swirl, add a bit of melted chocolate to the cocoa mix.
